Get Started:

Choose a vocabulary list and chapter to study.

Click Swap Direction to switch the languages:

  • eg. if currently choosing English answers for Greek words, click this to start choosing Greek equivalents for English words.

Swap Type changes between multiple-choice & simple:

  • Simple tests hide the answer in a popup menu. Click the menu to show the answer. Use this when you are learning the vocabulary the first time.
  • Multi-choice tests are useful for checking you know the words. Choose how many alternative answers you want to show. (More answers make it harder!)
  • Choose start marking immediately and as soon as you have chosen an answer you will be told whether you are right or wrong.

Click Submit test for a summary of what you got right and wrong, and what the correct answers were.

Using it Offline

To use this when disconnected from the internet:

  • Open a tab or window for every chapter you want to test while offline, and keep this open.
  • While you are online, choose the vocabulary, chapter, direction you want.
  • Either choose simple type (the answer is just hidden for you)
  • Or choose multiple-choice, and choose start marking immediately
    • (immediate marking works even when you are not connected to the internet)
  • When you have done this for each chapter you want to test while ofline, then you can disconnect from the internet.
  • Note: you must be connected to the internet to submit a test for marking, or to change any option.

Do you have a vocab list you would like to include here? I intend to produce an easy way to edit vocab lists online, but I have to be careful, so for now, if you have something you want included, can you get in touch via my contact page? I'll then reply, giving you my email address and instructions for sending the files.

This system uses UTF-8 plain text files (ending .txt) in the format:
chapter tab word-language-A tab part-of-speech-(optional) tab word-language-B line-break

Here's an example file to download.
